We arrived in Houston on September 11th<\/sup> and checked into our home away from home campground, Legends in New Caney. It felt like coming home. Although some families have moved on since we have been gone the last 6 months, many are still here and we have met new neighbors. Last winter we were in Space 28 and this time we ended up in Space 27. We will be here until February or March when we are ready to hit the road again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being back in Texas means it is time to catch up with our grandchildren who live locally and enjoy time with them. Also it meant that our youngest grandson would have the opportunity to get to know us again and enjoy time with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also means catching up on things that need to be done at our house that our daughters and son-in-law and three grandchildren live in. The pool pump had gone out and Frank had to replace that along with other odd and end issues that have come up while we were gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being back in town meant it was also time to get caught up on our Doctor and Dentist appointments.  We had physicals which showed that we both really needed to work on losing weight and getting in better shape so that will be our goal while we are here for the winter. Diane found out she had a condition that could be cancer so the Doctor did tests and scheduled an exploratory surgery for January. Frank found out most of his top teeth are bad and he needs to get them pulled and get a denture so our stop in Houston might be longer than we originally planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We did take a weekend trip in the RV to Sugar Land with our daughter the last week of September. We camped just outside of Sugar Land. We showed Frank some of the things we had seen when Hana and I had visited there last year. We visited downtown Sugar Land with their amazing candy shop and enjoyed a meals at Jupiter, a Pizza and Waffle Company. https:\/\/www.jupiterpizzaandwaffles.com\/<\/a> . We also visited the nearby BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir which is a beautiful Hindu temple.  https:\/\/www.baps.org\/Global-Network\/North-America\/Houston.aspx<\/a> . Then it was time to head back to our New Caney campground<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had decided to save storage fees we would try to clear out some of the things we thought we needed to keep when we first hit the road. Our goal was to go from the largest storage space to a small 10X10 space so that meant making a lot of decisions about what we want to keep and what we could things we wouldn\u2019t need in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we started the month of October by listing and selling off some of the bigger items we had kept on Facebook Marketplace. Then after two weeks of going through and sorting things out of our storage space we managed to get all of the things we wanted to keep into a 10X10 storage area. Everything else that no longer fit was sold at the neighborhood garage sale or donated to Goodwill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

October was also the month we got started on our goal of getting healthier.\u00a0 We joined the local YMCA and started classes there and also joined Weight Watchers and began our journey to losing weight and getting in better shape. Diane joined a Needlework group at the local Senior Center and began crocheting again making gifts for family members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our campground had a costume contest in October and we had fun participating and our daughter Hana and her boyfriend Blu participated with us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By November we were ready for a trip in the RV so we decided that spending Thanksgiving in Waco with our Daughters, Son and families would be fun. Our daughter Hana traveled with us to Waco and our son and grandkids came up from Austin. Our daughter Sara and family came up after celebrating Thanksgiving with our son-in-law\u2019s family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday, November 19th-<\/sup> We drove up to our campground in Waco. We didn\u2019t get there until evening so tomorrow we will start exploring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday, November 20th<\/sup>– Visited the Silos in Waco which has been made famous by Joanne and Chip Gaines who have the HGTV show Fixer Upper. We walked around the grounds for about an hour but were not overly impressed. The prices there were so high and living in an RV we didn\u2019t need any of the things they were selling. https:\/\/magnolia.com\/visit\/shop\/magnolia-market\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday, November 21st<\/sup>– Visited the Dr. Pepper museum in downtown Waco. It was so much more interesting and enjoyable then our visit to the Silos. The museum was originally a bottling factory as early as 1906. Today you can walk three floors of exhibits and then enjoy your own special Dr. Pepper beverage.  https:\/\/drpeppermuseum.com\/history\/history-of-dr-pepper-museum\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, November 22nd<\/sup>– Our Son Bill and grandchildren Tully and Liam arrived at our campground. We had spots next to each other which make it easy to hang out and play games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday, November 23rd<\/sup>– We celebrated our Thanksgiving dinner at Salt Grass restaurant and enjoyed a movie as a family before heading back to the campground to hang out and play more games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday, November 24th<\/sup>– Our daughter Sara and her family arrived and we had had so much fun on Tuesday at the Dr. Pepper museum we took all of our family over to check it out and spend time there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
