May 27, 2022 – We began to plan our retirement a year ago. We both informed our bosses of our official date. Mine was to be the end of the school year so I could do the final packing and Frank was to be the end of summer when we would be ready to hit the road. We bought our motor home in October and started enjoying it right away. We began sorting through our house to slim down our possessions before our final push to clean out and pack up the rest. Still retirement came up faster than I expected.
May 27th was my last official day at Kingwood Music School. I spent 8 years there and made so many friends. My co-workers became like a second family. I got to know the kids and parents. So in the end it was hard to say good-bye.
My co-workers made my last week so special and the emails and phone calls from parents added to the joy and love I felt. So instead of focusing on the sadness of leaving I am focusing on the adventures to come. But Kingwood Music School will always have a small part of my heart.
My boss posted this on Kingwood Music School Facebook page:
In her role as office manager, Diane has been the heart and soul of Kingwood Music School for many years. She will be missed by all the teachers, students and parents for whom she has become like family.
Feel free to stop by the office to help wish her well during her last week of work before retirement! We wish her much happiness ahead!
