Got up this morning hoping our car would be done and we could hook it up and pull it back to Houston with us, but they didn’t have the parts and wouldn’t even be able to start on it until Monday so we left it behind in San Antonio.
We headed out before 10 am back toward Houston. We were heading home but we had booked a night boon docking at a Harvest Host location in South Houston. We stopped in Katy for lunch at Los Cocos and found a great parking space in the mall just across from the restaurant. We got to The Lone Star Flight Museum at about 2 pm.
The Lone Star Flight Museum was a great site. They had dedicated one side of their parking lot to RVers who wanted to boon dock. They only allow 4 RVs at a time so we had plenty of room.
Once we got there we headed in to enjoy the museum. They had two huge halls with a wide variety of planes, drones, and other items.
We also got to use a flight simulator to try flying a plane. I managed to crash my plane twice but Hana and Frank did better. Then we tried out a virtual hang-gliding experience.
They had lots of hands-on exhibits for kids and even the outside grounds were couple. We spent a couple hours enjoying the museum and the grounds.
The weather was beautiful so we opened up the RV windows and door and enjoyed a nice breeze. The cats enjoyed looking out at the world and smelling all the smells. We had leftovers for dinner for lunch so we didn’t have to do any cooking on this trip. We headed to bed early as Sara had called to let us know they would be having Vincent blessed at church tomorrow morning and we wanted to be there for that.
We got up early the next morning and had a little over an hour drive home. It was a trip full of ups and downs but still lots of fun.
Postscript: We finally got a call from the car dealer on Monday and they wanted $1800 to fix the parking brake so Edwin headed back to San Antonio to put our car on a flat bed and tow our car home so we could repair it here.
