We got back from our cruise December 17th and for the next few months we were standing still in Texas. It was family time where we got to enjoy time with our children and grandchildren.
December- Over the Christmas Holidays our son Bill came to Houston and we got to do one of our favorite things which was off-roading. We headed North of New Caney to Creekside Off-road Ranch. https://creeksideoffroadranch.com/ . We took our Jeep and our Daughter and son-in-law brought their Jeep and a four by four and an ATV. We spent several hours hitting the trails and mudding a bit.
Then we celebrated Christmas together and exchanged gifts. It was fun to watch the grandchildren open their gifts and get excited about what they had gotten.
January- The month of January was cold and we spent a lot of it fighting off illnesses. We bundled up in the RV while temperatures fell to under freezing for several days. We used extra heaters and insulated with blankets and the RV stayed pretty warm. Diane was diagnosed with pneumonia which took a while to heal from so most of the month was spent laying around the RV and taking it easy.
At the end of the month we took a long weekend trip down to Austin. Our former Bishop’s wife had passed away and we wanted to attend the memorial for her. While we were there we got to spend time with my son Bill and his boys. We enjoyed eating all amazing Austin food. We had lunch at the Texas Pie company https://texaspiecompany.com/ . Then we enjoyed dinner at our favorite BBQ place The Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood https://saltlickbbq.com/ .
February – We spent this month hanging out with the grandchildren. Hana and I went and got another tattoo together. Mine had special meaning to me. Sometimes I feel like I struggle with having Faith, it is just too hard and that is when I hold onto Hope. So now I actually have the word Hope on my on with a dove lifting me toward Faith once again and when I am struggling I can hold onto it.
Instead of hitting the road in February like we did last year we have been delayed in Houston as we continue to deal with Doctors and Dentists and also try and decide what to do with our home as everyone’s life in our family is about to change.
